The 4th Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) and Steering Committee Meeting
This project is now in its final year, and in order to finalize the results of five years of international collaborative research, we are working on compiling research data, writing papers, and implementing the results in society, while continuing to focus on human resource development for young researchers in both countries.
On Friday, August 30, 2024, the 4th Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) and the 4th Steering Committee were held in Bangkok (Centara Grand, at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok (Centara Grand, at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok).
The JCC is the highest decision-making body of the project and is an important plenary meeting where changes to the project are approved. In this meeting, key members from Japanese project implementing agencies in Japan ( University of Miyazaki, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and Hokkaido University) and counterpart project implementing agencies in Thailand (Department of Livestock Development: DLD and Veterinary Universities), key officials from JICA Headquarters, JST, JICA Thailand Office, TICA, and Embassy of Japan in Thailand gathered through face-to-face and online meetings (36 face-to-face, 11 via web). At this JCC, the progress of each research topic to date and future research plans were reported, and the changes in the PDM (Project Design Matrix) proposed at last year's JCC were approved with some exceptions.

In implementing the SATREPS project, the Steering Committee will monitor the progress of the researchers involved in the project based on the Record for Discussion (R/D), an agreement between JICA and the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) of Thailand, and discuss how to smoothly implement the project. A total of 41 participants from Japan and Thailand attended via face-to-face and also online.
After opening remarks (online) by Dr. Ayako Yoshida, Director of CADIC, and an educational lecture by Dr. Pramote Talawat, President of the Thai Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), presentations were given on the progress of each of the four subprojects. After the presentations, a fruitful Q&A session was held to deepen the understanding among the counterparts.
