Other International Activities(1) Lectures by invited researchers from other countries*The Faculty of Education and Culture invited many researchers from otheruniversities (mainly from other countries), and asked them to give a speech tothe teaching and clerical staff and students. These speeches gave them anintellectual stimulus.*As seen in the lecture list (see p.109~p.110), most invited lecturers were theteachers of the sister colleges. At the beginning, many teachers of TESC, thefirst sister college of Faculty of Education, visited MU to conduct researchwith MU partners. The main content of their speeches was the uniqueeducation system of TESC. (see p.110~p.113)*Mr.J.H.Jordaan, a professor ofUniversity of South Africa, came toMiyazaki to participate in the WorldMasters Athletics Championship1993. He asked Mr. Hashisako, anMU teacher of pedagogy, to give him achance to talk about the education ofSouth Africa to MU people. *In 2001, Mr. Kawahara, an MU teacher of pedagogy, invited D. Kesseler, aspecialist in sociology. The subtitle of his speech was ‘What can a text writtenin 1919 still tell us today?’ A handout written in Japanese was distributed tothe audience. The speech was given in German with Mr. Akio Takekawa as aninterpreter.*The speech of Mr. W. Musnac was arranged andsupported by the Music Department of the Faculty ofEducation and Lifelong Learning Research Center in2003. He gave a visit to Mr. Hojun Nagata, a blindpriest and a biwa player in Nobeoka, as he was doingresearch in healing music in non-European countries.He talked about Music Education in Germany from the viewpoint of music therapy.
