Assistant professor Ken’ichi Nakabayashi, one of the projectmembers, explained the project contents as follows (in MU Bulletin,November 2011):‘…This 5-year project was started by JICA in the academic year 2011with the object of improving the quality of science and mathematicsteachers of elementary and junior high schools in Ghana. The Facultyof Education and Culture, MU participated in this project together withHiroshima University, University of Teacher Education Fukuoka, andShinshu University. With the cooperation from MU teachers of thescience education department, mathematics education department andpractical research education center, we accepted the “counterparts” fromGhana Education Service, who received the training at MU. …’
