Ms.Kozono was interested in teachingJapanese to foreign people. She got a permission from the department touse her free time after her office hours (9:00~16:00) to teach Japaneselanguage to MU foreign students in the LL room. She resigned her post in1993 and went to Australia to learn more about Japanese languageeducation. These informal Japanese language classes continued, asMs.Yoko Matsui, a Japanese language teacher living in Miyazaki, tookMs.Kozono’s place. For one academic year from the second semester of1997, Mr.Hirase stayed at Evergreen as a visiting faculty.
