- 164 -① Housing exclusive use of MU foreign students (April 1989)For the convenience of the MU foreign studentds, the City built thehousing in Kibana-dai in April 1989. Eight foreign students with theirfamilies moved into this housing in 1990. It was fortunate for foreigngraduate or research students who came with their families to be able tolive in these housing with low rent. When foreign students wanted to renta private house or apartment, it was usually necessary for them to paymuch money at the beginning, including a deposit and a reward. Inaddition, the rent of private housing was not low.② Seminar of international understanding(February 1989)It was held in a symposium form. Foreigners living in Miyazaki,foreign students of MU or vocational schools, teachers in charge of theforeign students gave their opinions on ‘Internationalization of Miyazaki’from various viewpoints. Then a discussion was conducted concerningthese opinions. It was regrettable that there were little time to have anenough discussion.(ⅴ) Kiyotake-cho International Association (KIA)As this Association is located near MU, it has always been suporting MUforeign students since it was established in February 1990.① Home-stay programIt has been supporting MU foreign students in the home-stay programs(usually 2 nights) in ‘Summer program’ carried out annually in July and
