- 168 -① A visit to a kindergarten(November. 25, 1989 Sakuragaoka Kindergarten)There were many requests from kindergartens. They wanted to inviteforeign students for one way of recruiting new kindergarten children. Thatcan be a good advertisementfor children. In those days itwas still rare for kindergartenchildren to contact aforeigner directly, while it isnot today. Foreign students,not in a formal manner,enjoyed their time withchildren, talking to them andrunning around with them. There was a foreign student who taught children swimming once a week ina kindergarten during summer.② Elemetary school pupils visited MU foreign students at MU(November 2, 1990Four Komatsu-dai Elementary school pupils with two teachers)Usually it was foreign students who visited schools, but in this visit,the elementary school pupils visited foreign students at MU. FourKomatsudai elementary school pupils (6th graders) came to MU with twoteachers. The pupils asked some questions and MU foreign studentsanswered them, sitting on the lawn in a circle. Two American students,one Malaysian student and one Tanzanian student joined the meeting.
