- 11 -They mainly studied at the private English school of Mr. Ujikawa, whohad a strong connection with TESC (see p. 9). Each student had his or herown topic, such as ‘Traditional entertainment of Miyazaki’ and ‘Economy ofMiyazaki.’ They went out to public offices or organizations, includingprefectural office or city hall, to get information and wrote essays.One day in their spare time, the group of students visited Funatsukacampus with Professor Tsutsumi and met the students and teachers ofFaculty of Education. After the short welcome ceremony, an introduction ofTESC and MU, and questions and answers in the meeting room, the groupenjoyed a quick campus tour. They were deeply interested in the old woodenbuildings.
