- 21 -*June 2001: Hiro Kawasaki (Fine Arts) paid a courtesy visit to MU on a visitto his hometown, Shintomi, about 50km north of Miyazaki-shi.*September 2002: Dean Toshitaka Iwamoto visited TESC with KiyoshiHirase for the third renewal of the exchange agreement.*November 2002: Rob (Physics) & Helena Knapp (Political Science) visitedMU. Rob met one of his advisees studying at MU as anexchange student, while Helena gave a speech atMiyazaki International College.*May 2003: John Cushing (Physics) visited Miyazaki to meet one of hisadvisees studying at MU as an exchange student.*September 2003: Kiyoshi Hirase visited TESC on the way back fromresearch at Pennsylvania State University.*May 2007: Susan Fiksdal (Literature and Language Education) visited MUwith her husband, Allen, while they were staying at HyogoUniversity as an exchange faculty member.*September 2007: Kiyoshi Hirase visited TESC for the fourth renewal of theexchange agreement. TESC organized a small party tocelebrate the 20th anniversary of the student exchangeprogram.*January 2009: Kiyoshi Hirase and Keiko Shimojo visited TESC forresearch on the possibility of starting the academic year inSeptember in Japan.
