- 52 -*On April 25 in 1987, twentyfive people concerned cametogether to celebrate theinaugural general meeting ofthe SC. In that meeting,with the approval of the SCrules and budget bill, the SCwas officially established.*The financial support systemstarted to work for twoexchange students, one fromTESC and one from DCE, who came to MU in October that year.*SEC was approved to work as a secretariat. And the following people wereapproved unanimously to be the officials of the SC:President:Torao Kitamura (Dean of the Faculty of Education of MU)Vice-President:Komao Ibii (President of Mokusei-kai[Alumni Association])Yoshimi Ono (Chairman of SEC)Directors:Jiro Nishida (Professor at Miyazaki Woman’s Junior College)Hisako Oshikawa (Director of Mokusei-kai)Kinsaku Takasu (an SEC member)Katsuhiko Kusano (an SEC member)Kiyoshi Hirase (an SEC member)Guy Butterworth (an SEC member)Inspectors:Iwao Takayama (Head of the Educational Affairs Department)Shiro Sakamoto (Vice-Principal of the University elementary school)Advisors:Naoshi Endo (President of MU)Koji Futagami (Chairman of the Student Affairs Section)Sukehiro Isogai (Prefectural Office)*The SC was established with the purpose of supporting financially exchangestudents from TESC and DCE, as they were not allowed to get a tuition waiver,while MU students got a tuition waiver at DCE. But following the changesof the situations around the exchange students, the purposes of the SC havegradually changed.
