The faculty of Education trains prospective teachers for elementary school, junior high school, kindergarten, and special needs education, with the aim of fostering innovative teachers capable of supporting children's growth. In line with these goals, for the courses of study listed below, we select suitable students who have a deep interest in children,communities, teaching, and an understanding of humanity.

Faculty of Medicine

The University of Miyazaki's Faculty of Medicine was established in October 2003 through the merger of Miyazaki University with Miyazaki Medical College, which was founded in1974.Our faculty aims to serve as a community pillar of education and research in the field of medicine and medical science. We are dedicated to imparting to our students the advanced medical and nursing skills needed for them to become well-rounded doctors, nurses, and researchers, while also fostering the ethical principles of placing the utmost priority on human life. In this way, we continuer to strive to contribute to the welfare of society and uphold the highest professional standards.

Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering aims to be a faculty that is deeply rooted in Miyazaki Prefecture and likewise maintains a global perspective. The faculty emphasizes the education of personnel who will be able to rise to new challenges with the accelerating progress of science and technology. It also emphasizes internationally high quality acclaimed academic research, while ensuring a substantial intellectual contribution to the local community through the development of local industries. In April 2012, we reorganized the faculty into seven new departments and adopted an advanced, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary approach in the field of education and research, working together cooperatively. This serves the purpose of developing scientific technology that can meet the challenges of the global environment in the 21st century. Further, we cultivate a high level of awareness of humanitarian issues among our students.

Faculty of Agriculture

The mission of agriculture in the 21st century is to overcome global food problems and environmental crises through production, development, and utilization of biological resources for maintaining a coexistence with all life on Earth. Situated in the heart of the food production base in Japan, the Faculty of Agriculture has contributed to agricultural development and aims to find solutions to issues related to food, environment, and life, while creating a peaceful and affluent local community. Along with addressing such issues common to humankind, the faculty will make further academic contributions to the development of agriculture, not only in Japan but also worldwide, particularly in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, while also fostering individual creativity.

Faculty of Regional Innovation

The Faculty of Regional Innovation, launched in 2016, aims to contribute to sustainable regional development. The new faculty has generated high expectations for its objective of contributing to regional and industrial development on the basis of the natural and social resources as well as the accumulated knowledge and expertise of the University of Miyazaki.The educational approach of the new faculty emphasizes the need to gain management knowledge and skills. Students learn subjects with a strong emphasis on management, while acquiring basic knowledge in a range of academic disciplines needed to understand local resources and tackle regional problems, such as the social sciences, agriculture, and engineering. On the basis of this approach, the faculty aims to cultivate students to become regional innovators able to comprehensively manage sustainable regional development through addressing socio-economic problems (e.g., population decline and stagnant regional economies) and to create innovative value within the regional industrial and business setting through recognizing and utilizing the available local resources.
