Research Areas and Support Systems
The IRO assistant professors will be members of the “Interdisciplinary Research Organization” and work independently under the following conditions including research funds, environments and opportunities

Research funds

  • Start-up fund for the first year and annual research fund are provided. (Travel expenses will be covered by this fund.)

Research environments

  • Research space (approximately 70 square meters per person including shared space)
  • Research equipment in university facilities is available.
  • Mentoring by “troika supporters”, consisting of two persons selected from faculty members from the university and one researcher outside Japan.

Support systems for female assistant professors

  • Female IRO assistant professors will be supported by the University of Miyazaki's Program for the Support of Women in the Sciences.

Support systems for non-Japanese assistant professors

  • Non-Japanese IRO assistant professors will be supported by the Global Support Office of the Center for International Relations and the Interdisciplinary Research Organization Office, which have coordinators proficient in English.
