Features of the Department

The Department of Environment and Resource Sciences aims at training advanced technical specialists who can contribute to the promotion of a safe and vigorous recycling-oriented society which is focused on lowering environmental impact by the effective use of resources and resource recycling. We attempt to achieve this goal in order to address prominent issues human beings must face such as the depletion of resources, the deterioration of nature and habitats, the global food shortage etc. Therefore, it is our responsibility to promote and deepen education and research in hopes of creating a sound system involving recycling and symbiosis with the environment by uniting cities, farming lands and forests. In addition we seek to educate on methods to achieve a system of low environmental impact which promotes safe and affluent living by saving, reusing and recycling materials.

We aim to provide education and research concerning the development of a secure, safe and sustainable biological production system through the utilization of animal and plant resources, the development of animal and plant functions, the clarification of dynamics of ecology in the process of animal and plant production, and the improvement of the production of environmental equipment, mechanization and functionality.

In particular, our program provides comprehensive education and research, integrating agriculture and engineering in order to effectively utilize technology. Of particular interest is the circulation of biomass specific to warm climate regions; the resources used in recycling and the control of technology through forests, farming lands and urban areas; the creation of comfortable urban spaces; the function of enforcement of fire prevention in rural villages and urban areas; and the development of ecological and chemical restoration technology to aid the environment. Also, the program aims to train the human resource personnel functionally so that they will possess the ability to answer the requests from communities as well as contribute to the task of global betterment.

1.Course of Environmentally Harmonized Technology and Science

Education and Research Contents

The Course entitled gEnvironmentally Harmonized Technology and Scienceh provides an interdisciplinary and comprehensive educational approach, integrating agriculture and engineering in order to respond to the issues surrounding the search for renewable energy. This course primarily focuses on the utilization of biomass produced from agriculture, forestry and dairy farming; the creation of recycling based resources in local communities; the control of CO2 concentration by utilizing rich nature, forest in particular; the abundance of organisms; water resource recharging; environmental restoration technology; the enforcement of fire prevention, and the creation of comfortable local urban spaces.

Aiming to establish sustainable societies, this course involves instruction on theories, technologies and methodologies which focus on how to live harmoniously and symbiotically with nature and ecology.

2.Course of Sustainable Agricultural Technology and Science

Education and Research Contents

The Course entitled gSustainable Agricultural Technology and Scienceh provides education and research involving scientific technology which is concerned with sustainable production through the effective utilization, and development and appropriate control of biological resources. Therefore, by integrating plant production science, animal production science and agricultural environmental engineering, this course provides the necessary education and research in order to understand analyses related to the control of sustainable animal and plant production, the effective utilization of animal and plant resources, the development and improvement of animal and plant functions, the control of damage caused by diseases and pests, the analysis of the physiology of animals and plants, the dynamic clarification of ecology in the processes of animal and plant production through comprehensive agriculture education and research; and the development of a sustainable production system through environmental arrangement, mechanization and practicable agriculture.

  • Advanced technical specialists who learn about stable sustainable agricultural technology through the analysis of physiology of animals and plants and through a dynamic understanding of ecology as it applies to the processes of animal and plant production, and in turn can contribute to the sustainable development of regional agriculture.
