Keep on fighting transboundary animal diseases

The mission of The Center for Animal Disease Control (CADIC) is to tackle existing problems of transboundary and zoonotic livestock diseases and foreseen threats of livestock industries with cutting-edge technology and evidence-based strategy. CADIC also cultivates future generations of researchers, livestock farmers, food distributers, and retailers to create a sustainable society.

CADIC at University of Miyazaki was launched on October 1, 2011. The specific goals of CADIC are as follows:

  • detect and investigate crucial infectious diseases,
  • conduct research on epidemic diseases,
  • develop an effective and accurate diagnostic test,
  • reduce economic losses of livestock industries from infectious diseases,
  • develop safe and effective strategies to control and prevent recurrence o
  • f infectious and transboundary diseases,
  • train and educate specialists for risk management
