Response by University of Miyazaki to Novel Coronavirus Situation

The University of Miyazaki (UoM) has been enacting various measures to counter the threat of the spread of novel coronavirus. UoM has convened meetings of the Crisis Management Committee, chaired by President, to respond to the risks related to the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

As of March 16, there is only one confirmed case of novel coronavirus in Miyazaki Prefecture, but UoM is taking measures to limit the possibility of infection and prepare for worst-case scenarios. Measures taken so far include the cancellation of all non-urgent international trips and visits from overseas partner institutions; the cancellation of the graduation ceremony scheduled for late March and entrance ceremony scheduled for early April; and postponement of other meetings involving large numbers of people.
