The 2nd Joint Seminar held by RCGLID Oita University and CADIC University of Miyazaki

The second joint seminar between the Center for Animal Disease Control (CADIC) and the Research Center for Global and Local Infectious Diseases (RCGLID) of Oita University, with which CADIC has an agreement, was held at RCGLID on December 2nd.

At the seminar, the directors of both centers reported on the current status of their respective centers' activities.
Also, from CADIC, Hirohisa Mekata, Director of Division of Research & Inspection for Infectious Diseases, gave an introduction on veterinary approaches to zoonotic disease SFTS under the title "SFTS of companion animals and wild animals." . From RCGLID, Deputy Director Yamaoka gave a lecture titled "The Frontline of Helicobacter・Pylori Research" ranging from efforts in the SATREPS project in Bhutan to the contents of papers published in Nature magazine. After the lectures, there was a lively Q&A session to deepen the understanding of each other's research and activities.

After the seminar, a tour of the RCGLID building was held. The building, which is Oita University's first nationwide joint use research facility, was equipped with not only state-of-the-art experimental facilities, but also a multipurpose room and a research space for visiting external researchers, providing a fulfilling activity environment.
