【Held on February 21st】 Miyazaki One Health Study Group Public Seminar "Thinking about rabies now"

◆The following seminars sponsored by CADIC will be held. All interested parties are welcome to participate. ◆

It has been more than 60 years since the rabies epidemic ended in Japan, and as a result, there are almost no doctors/veterinarians who have experience with rabies. However, rabies is a high-risk infectious disease in Asia and Africa, and even in Taiwan, which was thought to be a rabies-free country, rabies infection was confirmed for the first time in 54 years. In this era of globalization, it is undeniable that there is a risk of rabies reintroducing Japan.

Therefore, the Miyazaki One Health Study Group (MOH Laboratory) will have lectures by Dr. Kentaro Yamada of the University of Miyazaki, who works on rabies virus research, and Dr. Hanako Kurai, a doctor at the Shizuoka Cancer Center who dealt with cases of rabies in visitors from the Philippines, would like to provide a forum where doctors and veterinarians can share information and exchange opinions regarding rabies from the perspectives of both doctors and veterinarians.
