On Friday, October 25, 2024, a welcome party for international students was held at the University of Miyazaki's Kibana Campus, attended by a total of approximately 160 people, including international students enrolled at the University of Miyazaki and their families, as well as Japanese students, faculty and staff.
2024年10月25日（金）、宮崎大学木花キャンパスにて留学生ウェルカムパーティーが開催され、宮崎大学に在籍する外国人留学生とその家族をはじめ、日本人学生・教職員など、合計約160人が参加しました。
The University of Miyazaki had held international student welcome parties in April and October until the academic year 2019, before the global outbreak of the new coronavirus, for deepening friendship among both international and Japanese students and cultivating the international spirit of Japanese students. However, this will be the first time in five years that such a large-scale event will be held.
宮崎大学では、外国人留学生双方の親睦を深めるとともに、日本人学生の国際性を涵養することを目的として、新型コロナウイルス感染症が世界的に蔓延する前の2019年度までは、4月と10月に留学生ウェルカムパーティーを開催してきましたが、今回のような大規模開催は５年ぶりとなります。
At the beginning of the party, Ms. Yasue Yoshinari, Vice President and Director, Center for International relations who assumed her new position on October 1 this year, gave a welcome speech.
This was followed by a dance performance by Myanmar and Indian students, as well as a comic performance by Japanese students. Halal food was served and a kimono experience corner was also set up, making the event an enjoyable experience for all while bringing multiculturalism closer to home.
はじめに、本年10月1日に着任した吉成安恵国際担当理事（国際連携機構長）が歓迎の挨拶を述べた後、ミャンマー人留学生やインド人留学生によるダンスの披露があったほか、日本人学生による漫才の披露などもあり、大いに盛り上がりました。また、ハラールフードが提供されたり、着物体験コーナーも設けられたりと、多文化を身近に感じつつ、それぞれが楽しめるイベントとなりました。
The University of Miyazaki has 132 international students from 24 countries (as of May 1, 2024), and will continue to pursue a high level of research while promoting internationalization, as well as create a campus with a rich international flavor to cultivate the internationality of Japanese students, to develop human resources who can contribute to regional vitalization and internationalization.
宮崎大学には、24カ国132人の外国人留学生が在籍しており（2024年5月1日時点）、今後も国際化を進めながら高いレベルの研究を追求するとともに、国際色豊かなキャンパスを創出して日本人学生の国際性を涵養することで、地域の活性化と国際化に貢献できる人材育成に努めてまいります。
