The tutor system is intended to provide international students enrolled at the University of Miyazaki (UoM) with individualized extracurricular guidance on education and research by tutors selected by UoM under the guidance of their advisors, in order to improve the effectiveness of the students' learning and research.
International students who are eligible for the tutor system are those in their first year of graduate school and those up to their second year of undergraduate study. There are many things that international students, who are unfamiliar with the Japanese language and life in Japan, may feel uneasy about or have questions about. Those who have been selected as tutors will serve as mentors for such international students. The role of tutors is to help international students adjust to life in Japan more quickly and to support them in their studies and research by having daily contact with them.
