Q1あなたの研究テーマについて教えてください。
Cryogel is a unique material that is produced at freezing temperatures. We used chitosan (CH) as an environmentally friendly biopolymer for making cryogel. “Green” cross-linker agent is used to modify the chitosan structure thereby increasing the stability and benefits of chitosan cryogel. We chosen tripolyphosphate (TPP) and tannic acid (TA) as cross-linking agents because they were biocompatible, strengthen the polymer matrix, cheap, and abundant. CH-TPP-TA cryogels were used as adsorbent of heavy metals and biomaterial compounds.
Q2いつ頃から大学院博士後期課程への進学を意識しましたか？
When I was on the committee of an International Seminar in Indonesia, I was part of collecting writings from the panelists. I read several research topics from Prof. Koichiro Shiomori and Prof. Hideki Matsune, then I was interested and started studying it. I discussed a lot with Prof. Shiomori and I decided to continue my studies at University of Miyazaki.
Q3大学院博士後期課程での学生生活について教えてください。
In my Ph.D. course, I did a lot of activities in the laboratory. I have completed several mandatory and elective courses in my Department. During my first year as a Ph.D. student, I was a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant. My research ran smoothly and research progress was reported periodically to my Supervisor. In my first year, I completed a scientific manuscript to be published in a reputable international journal. Based on my PhD experience, I have become a more diligent person and have a high work ethic which can help me achieve my goals as a great scientist.
Q4次世代研究者挑戦的研究プログラムに採用後、何か変わりましたか？
The Next-Generation Researcher Support Project has been very beneficial for me. I became more motivated to complete my Ph.D. course and conduct research well. The interim report progress every 6 months helps me to manage my time well. I can manage my research time well, therefore I got good results. The funding assistance from this project makes it easier for me to conduct research and live my daily life in Miyazaki.
Q5将来の目標について教えてください。
In the future, I want to do a lot of research that will benefit many people. I will collaborate with many researchers, especially Japanese and Indonesian researchers. I plan to do a post-doctoral degree after I graduate my Ph.D. course. I want to pursue my dream of becoming a Professor.
